Philip Shaul Major, 86, of Oak Lawn, died Sept. 14 at Lexington of Orland. A memorial visitation and service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 22 at the First United Methodist Church of Oak Lawn, 10000 S. Central Ave. Interment will be at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood.
Mr. Major is survived by his wife, Patricia Jeanne, his son, Perry Ernest Major; his daughter, Penelope Greiman; his brothers, Richard and Russell; his sister, Myra Jean Feldkamp; and four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Mr. Major was born in Chicago. He worked as a display advertiser for the Southtown Economist and Novus Auto Glass. He served in the Army during World War II. He was a member of the Oak Lawn Kiwanis Club, Oak Lawn Chamber of Commerce, Oak Lawn Golden K and Methodist Men, and the West Englewood and Oak Lawn Masonic Temple. He was a volunteer at Oak Forest Hospital and an avid bowler at Bleeker’s Bowl in Evergreen Park.
