Edmund J. Gray, 80, of rural Montgomery City, MO, died at 6:27 p.m. on Sunday, February 28, 2010, at his home.
Edmund John Gray, was born October 1, 1929, in Chicago, IL to Edmund Gray and Sophia Zaucha Gray. He graduated from Chicago High School. Mr. Gray married Magdalene Becker on May 16, 1953 in Evergreen Park, IL. They have been married over 56 wonderful years. Mr. Gray worked for TWA until he retired, working in the parts store. Mr. Gray enjoyed talk radio, bowling, paint by number, and building remote airplanes. He enjoyed feeding the hummingbirds and watching the hundreds that came by to feed. Mr. Gray enjoyed spending time with his family and his many friends.
Mr. Gray is survived by his wife, Magdalene Becker Gray of rural Montgomery City, MO; four children: Michael Gray and wife, Shelley, of Worth, IL; Donald Gray of Montgomery City, MO; David John Gray and fiancée, Lorna, of Greenville, SC; and Kathy Sherman and husband, Eric, of Wentzville, MO; ten grandchildren: Wendy, Michael, Monica, Katie, Matthew, Katrina, Nina, Taylor, Blake and Zack; five great-grandchildren: Reaghan, Johnny, Kaitlyn, Emma, and Audrey; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Mr. Gray was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Frank E. Gray.
Funeral services were held at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 6, 2010, at the Schlanker Funeral Home in Montgomery City, MO. The Reverend Frank Bussmann officiated. Visitation was held from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday at the Schlanker Funeral Home in Montgomery City, MO. Honorary casketbearers include Michael Gray, Jay Bobek, Matthew Sherman, Jesse Hauser, Jon McCarthy and Sean Witt.
