Joseph E. Foley Jr.

Joseph E. Foley Jr., 88, of La Grange, died Sept. 1. Visitation was held at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, in Countryside, on Sept. 5, preceding a chapel service at the funeral home. Burial was at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.

Mr. Foley for many years operated his own advertising agency in downtown Chicago, and later in Oak Brook.

Mr. Foley is survived by his daughters, Gerri Richards, the wife of the owner of The Reporter and The Regional News; Mary Linda Flynn; his son, Joseph Foley III; his brother, John Foley; and three grandchildren, Amy Richards, the publisher of The Reporter and The Regional News, and Ryan and Jayni Foley.

Mr. Foley was born in Philadelphia, Pa. He enjoyed sailing and was a member of the Loyal Order of the World Wars.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, with the rank of lieutenant colonel, and served as the commanding officer of the 48th Combat Engineers. Memorials may be sent to The American Cancer Society, 7234 W. Ogden Ave., Suite 35, Riverside, IL 60546.
