William P. Cunningham, 79, of Palos Park, formerly of Evergreen Park, died March 21, at North Fort Myers Fla. Visitation was held at Blake-Lamb Funeral Home in Oak Lawn on March 24. A funeral Mass was offered at Our Lady of the Woods Church in Orland Park on March 25. Burial was at St. Mary Cemetery in Evergreen Park.
Mr. Cunningham is survived by his wife Marguerite; his daughters, Christine Groen, Betty Eilers, Lynne Welcome, Cathy, Donna Collins, Nancy Rodarte, Diane Aalders, Maribeth Rodela, Jill Kavanaugh and Bobbie Halminiak; his sons, William and Glenn; many nieces and nephews; and 27 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Mr. Cunningham was born in New Jersey. He was retired from Tootsie Roll, Inc. He owned and operated Action Lawn Sprinkler Co. He was a World War II U.S. Marine Corps veteran. He was a former member of the Knights of Columbus and Holy Name Society, St. Bernadette Bowling Assn. and usher for Our Lady of the Woods. Memorials may be sent to Elks National Foundation, 2750 N.
